Job Description
About the Role
Prepare, cook, serve food and assist in the day-to-day running of the kitchen and back of house areas at the JNC nursing facility that meet Jimbelunga’s resident’s individual nutritional need and preferences, in line with the Food Safety Programme Guidelines and Accreditation Standards.
Duties
Responsible for the daily preparation of food items.
Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents to ensure follow-up and prevention.
Commit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systems.
Adhere to all regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials and fire safety.

Benefits
Starting Salary of $82,732 per annum (depending on qualification and experience) + 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

Immunisation history showing evidence of up-to-date COVID vaccinations.
Required
A demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and community controlled organizations with an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider community.
An understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in contemporary Australian society.
Demonstrated competencies and experience in preparation of food in a commercial setting.
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider community.
Understanding of culturally specific diets in response to community demand.
Highly developed oral and written communication skills.
Yellow card or be eligible to apply.
Preferred
Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents.
