Job Description

About the Role

The Jimbelunga Nursing Centre Assistant in Nursing will provide personal care to the residents according to their care plans. As they carry out their duties, AINs will make observations and subjective notes on resident health and wellbeing in order to assist registered staff with the review and development of care plans. You will work with under the supervision of RNs. 

Duties

  • Carry out routine clinical tasks with assigned residents, including delivery and administering of medication, sampling, wound management and other check-ups.
  • Provide everyday living assistance to residents. Carry out Assisting with general motor functions, personal hygiene and care as well as providing emotional support to the residents. 
  • Assist with development and review of resident care plans to ensure relevance and effectiveness at all times.
  • Commit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systems.
  • Adhere to the risk management strategies to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and accreditation standards.
  • Commit to continuous professional self-development.
  • Cultivate productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.

Benefits 

  • Starting base rate is $29.33 per hour (depends on qualification and experience) plus 11.5% Super.
  • Multiple casual positions available.

Desired Skills and Experience

COVID - 19 Requirements

  • Immunization history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine is encouraged.

Required

  • The ability to work independently, under guidance or direction and within a multi-disciplinary team. 
  • Effective organizational and time management skills. 
  • Genuine interest in Aged Care.  
  • Adequate physical health and ability to perform varying physical tasks. 
  • Decisive listening, influencing and persuasive skills. 
  • 2024 seasonal influenza vaccination.
  • Proof of the right to work lawfully in Australia.
  • NDIS worker clearance(yellow card) or eligible to apply.

Preferred

  • Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. 
  • Possess Certificate III in Aged Care or ability to obtain the same within 6 months of employment.
