Job Description

About the role

Effectively implement the IUIH System of Care through managing and coordinating staff and ensuring adequate resourcing. The Manager will assist staff to provide comprehensive health support services to clients with the aim to achieve improved health outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Duties

Ensure the effective management of Primary Health services to ensure the delivery of best practice quality services, effective forward service planning, meeting of targets and management of priorities.

Identify opportunities to develop strong values based partnerships with other agencies.

Ensuring the collation and delivery of quantitative and qualitative reports and analyse data as part of service delivery trends.

Coordinate staff in accordance with Clinical Governance Framework, individual Position Descriptions and ATSICHS policies and procedures.

Provide daily support to staff addressing challenging and complex problems and act as a source of guidance for staff.

Ensure Clinic operates in accordance with relevant government legislations and AGPAL accreditation.

Develop and implement strategies, policies and procedures that are focused on continuous improvement of our service and the experience of our clients at ATSICHS.

Commit to a high level of quality management for ATSICHS through use of LogiQC quality management systems.

Identify and develop opportunities for integrated service delivery and pathways of care to improve access with and from existing ATSICHS health and social services.

Commit to ongoing continuous quality improvement processes with annual reviews into the efficiency of service provision.

Cultivating productive working relationships at all levels, which support the nurturing of internal and external relationships, facilitates cooperation, trust and respect, values differences and diversity and guides, mentors and focuses on the development of staff.

Asses the performance of staff ensuring opportunities for their personal and career development and the management of any performance issues that need to be addressed.

Assist in the shaping and growing of ATSICHS organisational culture that promotes teamwork, positive workplace culture, communication and engagement in a way that inspires a sense of purpose and direction.

Desired Skills and Experience

COVID-19 Requirement

  • Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.

Essential

  • Experience in managing a team in a Team Leader or Management role
  • Interest in the Health & Wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Desirable, but not mandatory

  • Previous experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Previous experience in overseeing and coordinating Primary Health processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to meet targets and performance outcomes.
  • Ability to lead, guide and manage people including the implementation of cultural change and change management opportunities.
  • Ability to support and manage a continuous improvement model for achieving outcomes.
